Search the RetroRenovation site. The owner of the site, Pam, just painted her white woodwork to look like wood. Not oak, but should be the same concept.
She has several posts about her adventure. http://retrorenovation.com/2017/02/17/painting-white-woodwork-look-like-wood/
Here are some pretty good directions from Old House Online: http://www.oldhouseonline.com/articles/create-faux-wood-grain-finish
What I did was to paint the surface with a tone close to the base of the wood I was looking to imitate. For you, perhaps a medium golden tan (variations on baby poop). Then you take a nice stain and a nice stain brush. I used a "dry bursh" technique and stoked on the stain very lightly. This gave the appearance of wood grain. Practice on some scrap wood until you get an effect you like. I used it on doors and it was very effective. Afterwards I followed it up with a coat of varithane, to protect the paint. You may not need to do that if it is crown molding...it isn't gonna get a lot of damage.
