How to whitewash a coffee table in certain areas on the top?

This is a coffee table I have had for 17 years. It is whitewashed with a hint of pink. Beige ,the type of beige color that has a hint of pink rather than yellow. It has experienced some damage on certain parts of the top due to having flower pots on it. I now have it covered but eventually will want to repair the damage. I would like to make sure it remains as close to its original color as possible as I have other pieces in the room that match this one. At the moment it is covered with an embroidered cloth. It looks good but as I stated before I do need to repair the damaged areas eventually.
They are small but there are quite a few of them due to the flower pots.

My advice start over.Lightly sand ,clean and do the white wash, seal as you see fit.

First I would mask off area that needs to be finished with either masking tape, Frog tape gives a nice clean line. Another trick I use is clear contact paper. Next your going to mix paint to match, if you can find swatches at paint store and take home to find a match, or take a drawer from one of the pieces to a paint store (I would try for one that has computer matching), or I would just do it myself in a glass jar experimenting. Paint on poster board, dry with hair dryer, till it matches.

Now if its whitewash, what is the base color you need to lay down first, and then apply your wash usually using a dry brush technique. Add top coat (non-yellowing), I use spar varnish then I would paste wax whole top.

    Hope that helps.
