You need a tile saw (can rent one) a tile cutter, a grooved " knife" that puts a groove into the mastic and on the back of the tile, a bucket and sponge. You should remove the existing vinyl floor if possible. A fairly level subfloor is necessary. Good luck!
The first step would be to get rid of the vinyl flooring and the glue that held it down.
There are many YouTube videos on this and our local Home Depot store offers classes on how to lay tile. I'd look into those 2 things first before tackling this project. It's a lot of work and you don't want to spend the time and money doing it only to have it not look the way you want it.
We just had a 10x12 screened in porch tiled by a professional and he charged us $400 for the labor. We had to buy the tile and there are many options to pick from.
If you take the class at Home Depot , they'll tell you that you also need "spacers" to place between the corners of the tiles to maintain uniform spacing and get a professional look. I highly recommend taking the class . You'll be glad you did . It's not that hard once you know what you're doing . You got this !
