Attracting Monarch Butterflies

Today is National Start Seeing Monarchs Day. Traditionally the first Saturday in May is set aside to raise awareness of the declining population of monarchs.
Are you seeing any yet? I've seen them in my yard for the last few weeks. There are a few things that you can do to attract them and the right flowers can be key.
There is nothing quite like the sight of a monarch feeding on plants in your garden.
Monarch caterpillars need milkweed to survive.
A butterfly way station can hide an ugly fence line and attract all sorts of butterflies to your garden.
Knowing which plants to have in your garden is the key. Milkweed is necessary but others help too. See more on attracting monarchs on my blog.
