Chalk Paint® is not simply a paint with chalk added to it. It is not made by adding plaster of Paris or grout or even baking soda to an existing paint. Chalk paint is a special furniture paint designed to make furniture painting easier, giving painters more freedom and creativity while eliminating the need for preparations (no priming necessary). The finish is soft looking (somewhat Chalky). It is very forgiving and easy to use.

I like to make my own chalk paint. I mix 1/2 C Plaster of Paris, 1/2 C water and 1-1/2 C latex paint. Mix well and use
