Cynthia E on Jan 11, 2014You could strip and sand lightly then re-paint. But honestly he/she will scratch up the paint again-- I would think about covering that portion or all maybe of the door w/ something (metal, fabric, glass) depends on your styleHelpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jan 13, 2014I would buy a kick plate (which is on many front doors) and attach to the door. Unless you can break the dog of the habit, there is no sense in fixing the door. does the dog do it to get out/in? If you do repair door, then I would put a baby gate or barrier in front of the door until the dog realizes that he cannot scratch the door. good luckHelpful Reply
