You can get pond kits at Menards, Home Depot, and Lowe's
Call Ms. Utility and then dig your hole as deep/wide as you like. Line the hole with plastic (.33mm or thicker) and ensure the plastic extends beyond the hole a good foot all around the hole. Secure it with stones/rocks. Install water pump, fill with water, and voila!

depending on HOW small a pond you want: we have ONE pet duck named Reggie, (used to have 4.. but foxes got the others ).. and we use a big round 8 ft plastic kids swimming pool for Reggie to swim in.. and another pool the same size, for our goose, Blue, to bathe in. The plus to using a swimming pool is that it is far easier to empty out and clean, than a built in pond would be... I love ducks and geese but they DO make a mess when they bathe :)
