Southern Traditions: Why Did My Grandmas Sweep Their Yards?
My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
Try using a product called Wet and Forget it is safe for plants and surfaces.It should help brighten up the brick.As for the windows,trim and doors,use a you can try product as goof off or krud cutter but you will have to do a small space at a time being careful not to get that on the plants.
When my son and friends painted our overhang white( while we were gone) and enjoyed a few beers at the time, we ended with a lot of paint drips and runs on our reddish brick. A can of paint like stain and a small brush was used for HIM to paint over the white. It worked, and has lasted for over 30 years.
If you don't like the color of the brick you can use white and black paint to get the multi-colored style of brick. My brick was that orange color also and all it is is some paint put on that is for stone that was put on when the house was built. Now it's all done at a factory by machines.
