You're going to have to get rid of the rotten area, you can do it!!!
What is the source of the issue? Water? Has that been corrected? You can remove sections of flooring and replace with new . If it's subflooring, that will definitely need replacing first, then the hardwood floor. Best of luck.
If termites caused the damage, you'll have to treat for that and fix all affected areas. If water damaged the floor, you have to patch any leaks and standing water so that problem won't recur. Then repair and replace that part of the floor. If dry rot is the problem, you have to check the underlying beams and boards to determine how much will have to be replaced. Last, sometimes a sinking spot in a floor is not rotten, but does not have a sufficient foundation underneath. Again with the beams and boards and subflooring, but you may need one or more piers or other foundation repairs. That's a lot to check out, but the more you know before hiring and starting repairs, the more you can make sure the correct repairs are being made. Best wishes!
