Your seams need to be rightly butted against each other. No need to place anything on the seams.
I agree with Elizabeth! What I do is get some paint close to the color of the paneling and paint a line on the wall where the seams will be. The panels are butted together and if there is any slight movement or shrinkage the seams won't show as much.
I agree too, and part of the beauty of paneling! Easy to install and makes a nice change relatively inexpensively.
You can buy wood or vinyl strips that are made to slip between two sheets of paneling and in corners I would use quarter rounds (made of same materials)..check with LOWE'S or Home Depot. Comes already in colors or plain.
