Some simple ideas to get you started. Simply just clean the area completely. Then take notice of what items you want to keep in that particular area and what items need to be put away for a bit. You'll need to decide what you want to do with that area. If it is going to be a sitting area, then you will need to find furniture to suit the space. You can thrift purchase some or get some from a flea market or repurpose something from inside your home and then put it in the outdoor space. Lots of people often use paint to upcycle and repurpose furniture or pieces they use outside. Do remember to seal the furniture...especially if it is going to be exposed to the elements or simply use pressure treated wood, if you decide to build it yourself. So the biggest thing you want to decide is what kind of change you were looking for in a certain area. And the least expensive ways to start with that is to bring some of what you have in another part of your home or even in the garage...to that space and then simply clean it up, paint it , sand and stain it..however it suit its new location. If I finding new or repurposed furniture for the area is not what you were looking for, simply spruce up the area by giving it a makeover with paint, wall decor, planters and colors of your choosing and even an outdoor area rug that you can buy or DIY.
