Remove the plants and clean them with bleach. Wash them off and place them in fresh water for about ten minutes. Rinse them well and return to aquarium.
thanks, I was hesitant to use bleach. nice to know it will work.
Bleach works but you shouldn't need to clean them if you have the proper amount of Plemocosises (algae eater) and Cat Fish. We have tanks for over thirty years and after the first year we learned to keep one Cat for every 5 gallons and 2 plemocisises in every 30 to 55 gallon. We bred fresh water Angels.
i have 2 plemocisises and a dragon fish for my 70 gal tank but just changed to canister filter after my old one stopped working well. Am trying to get the tank back in some kind of balance. I am still playing with the bio media .
plemocisises best way to go and natural
It helps to keep an aquarium out of any direct sunlight. Also, along with the algae eating fish try to find Marimo moss balls as they can prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and algae. I purchased mine from a local pet store.
