use good potting soil in a pot with good drainage. add slow release fertilizer and eggshells or antacid tablets. use a tomato cage for them to climb up.
Add egg shells to hole first then put plant in. You can mix used coffee grounds to soil to. Place a wire trellis down in pot around plant and as plant grows train it to go up trellis.
Tomatoes love it where it gets lots of sunshine; but they like their roots to stay cool. So you will need to keep the base of the plant [the container] shaded from the sun. Plant the stems of the plants well into the container so that the plants develop a large root system [remove the lower leaves so they don't rot out the plant stem]...they will create lots of roots & grow well.
