Decor Ideas for a ramped front porch

My front porch is long but the only true flat part is close to the door a a little space beyond where I have a small swung bench. It's about an arms length wide with a pole railing inside a flat wood railing. It's just boring wood and my living room window. So no wall space to hang anything. Front door has a nice wreath decorated seasonally and that's about it. Help with some ideas.

Have you thought about hanging window boxes from the rails? Can you put up hanging pots under the eaves or from shepherd hooks along the sides of the ramp? It is hard to suggest without knowing what it all looks like.

Nancy, can you hang a planter from a railing, with colorful flowers? Then, select a diff. color and use that one too. Try to have this approach colorful, and this will look wonderful. Mary Golds are great, and Petunia's also are great, and the Mary Gold's do a double duty, for you can save the seeds, and use those next yr. Just keep this up, and you will have a real selection. Also, this plant will help keep unwanted bugs from this area. This is great!!! There is nothing like a colorful flower pot, or planter, for these are lovely. Enjoy your flowers, and have a wonderful time with the color assortment. Judy.

One more nugget of truth, the animals HATE the smell of Mary Gold's and will stay away from them. This is GREAT to remember.!!! Enjoy, and have a lovely day, no matter what the weather, ok? Judy.
