Our bathroom has shiny wallboard with lots of nail holes. I am wondering what kind of paint would work best or maybe it would be best to just get new wall board !!
Only if you have it professionally re-glazed, I think, and I still wouldn't do it.
I lived in a house that the previous owners had the tub/tiles re-coated with some sort of paint/coating. It looked very nice until we actually used the tub for bathing and showering. The coating immediately loosened and bubbled, and of course it then began peeling. It looked far worse than the original aqua tub and tiles had looked!
We learned from one of the neighbors that they had had the coating applied, then never used the tub/shower, leaving it undisturbed but "staged" for sale. They did the same with another (leaking) shower, and used the shower at the local health club. We were the unlucky victims of their dishonesty.
I personally wouldn't paint the tub myself. My Mother had her cast iron/porcelain tub professionally painted, and it lasted for years. It still looked brand new when we sold the house.
You sure can! I suggest Rustoleum Tub and Tile Paint Kit.

I agree with William, the Rust-Oleum kit is amazing!
You can paint your bathtub with a special bathtub paint - it's a two part epoxy paint. Use a regular paint roller to get a nice smooth surface!
Home Depot sells a product called Homax 720773 Tub & Sink Brush-On One-Part Epoxy. Also, comes in a spray can. Another Hometalker shared a post about it. Her redo looked great.
