After my cabinets are done, I want to blend in my old green countertop

My materials are two colors of paint, and varnish, to blend in and then seal my old countertops. The paints are the new cabinet inside and door frame colors, and the color I chose for the hardware for the doors, and the colors in the backsplash tile. What is the best way to spot/smudge/smear these colors onto my counters? I need some fresh ideas, currently was thinking sponges, crinkled newspaper, crinkled paper towels, stuff like that, but could use some better ideas please?

The sponged look is a great option, it will incorporate the colors but not be too matchy matchy and it will give a nice marbized sophistication. Good luck!!

If you want something a little different you can try a speckled paint look. All you need to do it grab a paint brush and splash some of the color overtop!

You first need to decide what look you are wanting. The sponge will get you the marble look. The speckled will get you a granite look. You could also try an ombre look with the colors. Once you decide what look you want,. Then you can figure out what method to use.

You can also try crumpled plastic bag . Sponges and paper soak up a bit of the paint , whereas the plastic transfers it all to the surface being painted .
