At some point did you prune them?
You must feed them for them to bloom. I have used miracle gro for flowering plants and my azales have flourished.
Azaleas roots are all very shallow. If you dig in the soil around or under them they won't thrive. They are understory plants and nothing should be growing under them. They also like to be kept moist.
