Has anyone had any experience with Polymer sand grouting?

I did my research, I thought, about the advantages of polymer sand grouting for flagstone patio. I have always hated the way conrete grouting cracks after a few years and hoped the polymer sand would avoid that problem. However, my patio was installed last summer and when I cleaned off the winter debris and washed off the flagstone, the polymer is peeled up in places. Has anyone else had this experience and if so what did you do about it?
