Some good options would be Variegated Sweet Flag...also called Japanese Sweet Flag. It has a grassy appearance and the variegated blades make it really pretty. Also, Helvola Waterlily...it is a dwarf version of regular waterlilies and is perfect for smaller ponds. Last...plant some Creeping Jenny around the edges, spilling over the rocks, etc for a nice way to soften the edges.
Water lillies
water lillies
Warelilies are great but you can also try Pickeral Rush, Lizard Tail, Iris. Check the internet for pond plants, there are so many to chose from. One piece of information I can give you is to plant in buckets so when you place the plant in for the winter they are easier to handle when planted in buckets. I buy mine at my local dollar store. I have been doing this for years with great success!!Make sure to feed them with pond tabs. I have a Lotus that I grow in a large pot and place it in the bottom of my pond for the winter. I have had the same plants for about 12 years! Good luck and happy ponding. If you need to talk to a pro contact www.matherfish.com His name is Frank and he deals in ponding and tell him I said to contact him. He taught me everything I know!!
