Bougainvillea What is eating on my bougainvillea leaves causing this?

    From the photo that appears to be a disease not insect damage.Trim the infected leaves.Repot the plant and treat with a systemic disease control.

    I agree that it is not likely being eaten. If you plant it in the ground, plant garlic around it. Garlic repels aphids among other things . This works well for roses too and gives you the benefit of fresh garlic.

    Treat with a fungicide and then fertilize.

    Looks like the spines cut the leaves. Has it been windy?

    YES! very windY. I have been spraying with insecticide twice weekly. I have also been fertilizing on a suggested cycle.
