Can I paint our Kitchen Cabinets? They're laminate, not wood.

I would like to paint our cabinets, but they seem to be some kind of laminate as opposed to wood.

Can I do this? If so how should I prep them?

Yes you can paint them Lightly sand,clean apply tow coats of primer with a foam brush allowing each coat to dry.Paint allow to dry and seal with a few coats of a non-yellowing polycrylic.

I would think that painting on a product like Kilz first might work.

  chalk paint will cover Formica. Have not tried yet but all reports say no sanding /priming necessary.
