How to Make an Insane Metal Wreath This Weekend

We don't drink much soda, so the longest part of this project was gathering our cans. This project is similar to my autumn leaves wreath only it is floral for spring. The metal of aluminum cans is soft and easy to cut with scissors. Please do wear gloves.
To get a flat piece of aluminum, I cut the top and bottom from the cans. Then cut down one side. I trim the edges cutting away any sharp areas. Then rub across a table edge to flatten. I used basic flower shapes. I drew mine on the computer and have it as a download on the website. You can use any basic floral shapes. A pencil adds dimension to the flowers.
I used chalk-based paint in a spray to paint the flowers on front and back.
Then I used regular craft paints to add color.
To add more distress to the flowers I used alcohol inks.
Two sizes were cut for each flower. I used an awl to make a small hole in the center of each flower. A nail would work too. Then I cut small pieces to twine, tying a knot at one end, to use to hold the flowers together. The other end would be glued around a dollar store square frame.
This is my final result. Notice I did add leaves tucked in and glued in places.
Enjoyed the project?

I am absolutely going to try this. I have diet cokes running thru my veins, according to my grandchildren, so having enough cans isn't a problem! Lol! Happy Spring!😁🌞🌈
