Check Habitat stores, antique stores, and consignment shops for large tv/entertainment centers. You can use a rod and convert for hanging space.
Hang a curtain behind your bed, use clothes racks and shelves to make that space your closet.
Oh! Loving these ideas!
We would probably build one in our home, but if money is a problem, you can buy those racks on wheels for hangin' clothes. They work!!They also have enclosed cabinets for hangin' your clothes.......You can even go as far as getting boxes for clothing, when you're moving. They have them for hanging all your clothing and are stable for traveling......I'm sure in a pinch, they would work!
Put hooks in the ceiling whatever distance apart you need and suspend a length of chain from each hook. Use another hook at the bottom of the chain to hold a dowel or even a tension shower curtain rod for hanging clothes. Then hang a shelf above the dowel between the chains for decorative boxes for folding clothes, sweaters, etc. You could even put a shelf under the hanging clothes near the floor for more storage baskets or shoes. Get matching hangers and pretty baskets to coordinate. Voila!
