I guess that would depend on the condition of your concrete floor. I cleaned mine with a good cleaner and let it dry for 24 hrs then I repaired any holes etc. I put self adhesive floor tile down on half the floor and carpet on the other half. That was 18 years ago and still looking good!!
I covered my basement kitchen and woodworking room with interlocking padded tile like is used in exercise or kid's rooms. It looks like parquet, but it is great for cushioning the floor. I just vacuum it and damp mop it.
In my parents house we tried both indoor/outdoor carpet and artificial "grass" for a cement floor in our recreational room. Both stayed nice for years.
I would look into carpet tiles. That way if one or two get dirty beyond repair you can just replace. Some you do not even need to glue down.
