How can I make a Garden shelter/cover?

I have put in my garden for the upcoming summer. I live in Dayton, Nv. And it can get hot and windy on some days. i once saw a pvc stand with cover attached to help protect tender veggies. Any ideas on how I could also do something similar.

Look up hoop houses and row covers.
I made small hoop houses for my vegetable garden rows. Bend pvc pipe into a U shape. Anchor it by sliding the pipe ends over rebar driven into the edge of your garden. Use garden cloth for the "house".
I used 2 pieces of pvc and weed barrier cloth for mine. It was very inexpensive. I placed one end in one corner of my raised bed and the other end cat a corner from the first end. Then I did the same the other way. I used a tie rap in the center to keep them togethe. I then draped the weed barrier cloth over the structure. I tied the ends of cloth to ends of pvc. It's easy to put up and take down.
