What about cork tiles or bead board? Or a mixture of mirror and metallic tiles?
Oh I love the cork tiles! Do they come in adhesive squares?
If you're on a budget, a friend of mine took brown butcher paper, cut it into various sized triangles, squares, strips, etc, soaked then in some tea to give it a richer color, then decoupaged them in a random order on a cracked plaster wall. It was beautiful. You could use tissue paper, white butcher paper, take your pick to complete your look.
That sounds interesting for sure! And yes I'm on a budget. Do you have pics?
