What can I use as a Self supporting vine?

I have a west facing stucco wall (Zone 9), and want to cover it in a self supporting vine. Flowering is great, but not required. Does need to stay green all year. The wall gets very hot direct sun for hours, and it seems that the ivy type vines cannot tolerate those conditions. Ideas?

Not sure but an ivy covered wall is beautiful, but you do know that with time the tendils of the vine will eat into the stucco and it will be very hard to fix. Could you get a trellis or two and put them a little away from your house and put a climbing vine or rose on it?

    How about some star jasmine?

Do not use anything that will hard the wall. Climbing Hydranga is a great one, but not good in extreme heat.

I have it on the opposite end of the house, which is due east. It does great and I love it. Can it survive on the hot and direct suiny due west end?
