I had a similar issue and got some good advice that worked for us. Put on a mask so you don't breath it in, and vaccum it up where possible using a brush attachment. Then use rags and mops with dish soap, scrub, rinse, repeat until gone.
Add bleach to your scrub water. It will kill mold spores.
Spray on bleach.
WRONG!!! Bleach does NOT kill mold, it only puts it in a dormant state. It must be physically removed. HEPA vacuuming, wiping with Dawn, wire brushing etc.

I had black mold on the subfloor of the foreclosure I just bought, used the borax, let it dry and then applied tea tree oil to the spots and let them dry before installing carpet. Best of luck.
There is a spray you can buy at home depo that will kill it.. also a paint primer that will stop more from growing. Just ask the guy at home depo. Use a mask when cleaning......
Unfortunately you're probably going to have to remove the wood, clean if possible and rehang. There will be as much if not more mold under the panels. Plus there may be mold in the sheet rock and maybe even under that in the studs. Have a contractor or mold remediation company come in and give you an estimate. They will be able to let you know how much mold you are dealing with. Your health is at stake if the mold remains. Good luck with your project.
Scrubbing Bubbles with bleach, one step wipe and gone
You have to completely remove the wall and replace it. It can be even more invasive than just the wall. Mold will make your life miserable.
Had the same problem......Borax, or white distilled vinegar kills black mold. Obviously white Vinegar is the cheapest method, and works surprisingly well. Tea tree oil also kills it. It's a big project to take on, but definitely doable for a DIYer. Spray Vin. let dry, spray again, and what I did then, was pressure wash everything afterwards. Was messy, but got the job done, and there is no evidence of mold.
Protect yourself with a HEPA mask. wash all clothes when finished daily, and good luck.......it will work
Best to cut away mold area. A leak probably soaked the insulation too. Wear a dust mask.
