How to Age Wood (almost Instantly)
"paint" boards with vinegar, put out in sun. Might need to repeat a few times.
Mike, I haven't checked out Janet's link so this might be on there as well, but I've done this many times. Put steel wool into vinegar and then paint it on. Let it dry and "age". Repeat if you want it darker.
Beat them up before you put on any treatment. In the antique trade they use an ice pick, a chain, a hammer to distress furniture, then when you put on the stain these marks show up darker.
