I 'loathe' dealing with removing tile, though I would consider regrouting in a nice coppery color (if the grout is solid? I would use a copper paint pen, and then seal it) and look in to a wallpaper border from Bradbury and Bradbury, whose colors go really well with the mid-century vibe, oddly enough. I'd then accessorize in copper and cobalt blue, and add a moss green rug and towels .

I have the same in my bathroom. I'm going to bust it up and set tile that I like. I hate the green tile. It has to go!!!
