What is the best way to remove wallpaper?
I don’t want to leave tracks in the drywall as I did previously in a different room.
I used HOT water,soap for clothes and vinegar, score the wallpaper, take blade, run it down every few inches, use big sponge, wet walpaper, let sit 15 minutes, start scraping, i always start at top, water drips down, wont have to wet as much, vinegar helps take sizing off if there is some underneath, wash again to remove film
There is a little tool, a wallpaper scorer, you run over the wallpaper to put little holes all over it. Then you can buy solutions to spray or sponge on that soften the glue. However, if you want cheaper, non-toxic and smells pretty, you can put a 1 to 3 ratio solution of fabric softener and water in a spray bottle and use that instead of expensive chemical preparations to soak the paper. I suggest having a wide bladed putty knife to scrape tough bits but if you get your timing right... not too soon before solution sets in or too late after its drying... it works like a dream. Whole sheets come down without tearing. it is messy though so save yourself some clean up and put a drop cloth down to catch the sticky paper bits and any moisture.
hot water and vinegar in a spray bottle; spray on and wait
about 10 minutes to 1/2 hour depending on how bad it is stuck;
vinegar melts glue and paste.;try to scrape some holes in the wall paper first to get the vinegar behind the paper'
