White paint and reflective accents. Clear away all the clutter on the frig and counter.

For kitchens I like semi-gloss kitchen and bath paint, easy to wipe down and keep clean. You could also do a metallic finish on an accent wall.
Good lightening is key. Adding under-cabinent lighting is easiest.
And keep the counters clean. Less is more.
