Depends on their condition but I tend to stay with the original wood if at all possible. Our floors were not in great shape so we used a good floor paint. Be sure to sand them to make sure the paint is not going to chip or peel. If you like shabby chic...roughed up wood floors with dry brushed painting can be quite beautiful!
I vote for keeping as you can always sand down and stain or paint. If they are a hazard or not able to be saved that is another story. And it will save you some money that you can spend elsewhere.
Wood floors are awesome! You can sand and stain them, paint them, or even cover them with throw rugs if you need a little extra warmth. If you want to paint them, but don't like plain painted floors, you can even stencil them. Lots of options....and if they are in decent shape, there's no need to replace them with another product.
I agree, if they are solid, not rotting, etc, keep them. A good wood floor can outlive us!
I say keep! I'm big on re-use. We throw so much away in this society. Keep, sand and stain to any color you like!
