Cathie W on Jan 14, 2014This isn't related to dying. I have one too. Did you add the ties. Any hints on keeping the back portion on the back. Our sofa is leather. Just wondering how you use yours. Thanks for any tips.Helpful Reply

My Home With Style on Jan 14, 2014Did some poking around the interwebs, looks like you can do it! It's just a very particular process. Since microsuede is made of polyester, you have to use a special dye called disperse dye -- and you have to boil the fabric in the dye for an hour. Seems like a tricky process, do let us know if you try it!Helpful Reply

Bernice H on Jan 14, 2014Sounds like a winner idea tho. However fur baby looks great in tan!!! Are you going for a deep grey ? a light grey may not look so great dyed over the tan. Oh well, if it looks not so great a light color, you can always go darker.I have dyed bigger pieces in the washing machine, but you need real hot water as I remember. maybe set your water thermostat up higher for the time being?hmm think I will google dyeing polyester. Let us know!Helpful Reply

Debbie Harris on Jan 15, 2014The size of the boiling pot will make all the difference. The trouble will be if it is crammed into a small pot. You get folds and bends and that marks up the fabric kind of like tie-dying. Do a pretend run first. will it all fit in your pot etc... Maybe even a sample of microfiber fabric.Helpful Reply
