Make a Pillow From a Man's Shirt

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
We saw a photo of a pillow made out of a man's shirt and decided to make our own. Luckily, we had a great blue and white shirt that had a hole in the sleeve. It was the perfect shirt to use. See how we did it here: http://the2seasons.com/2014/01/13/making-a-shirt-pillow/
The pillow is sporty and the blue and white stripes work with any decor. I plan to use it on our back porch in the summer.
We removed the sleeves from the shirt first. Then we cut it out and put the right sides together. We stitched the sides together and filled it with pillow stuffing.

I would like to leave the collars on my husband's button down shirts when I make them into a pillow. Do you have any suggestions?

I am also going to do this with my sons old shirts I just acquired from his widow.

This will be my first Father's Day since my husband passed last September. I kept many of his old favorite shirts (with the spots still on them!) I plan to make a memory pillow for each of my children and my grandchildren and give it to them on Father's Day. Just a way to hold Dad and Granddad a little closer.....And I ordered patches that say, "This is a shirt I used to wear, when you hold it know that I am near. Love, Dad (or Granddad) that I will sew on the pocket. Judie from Surfside Beach SC
