put them in a tub of Vinegar that just covers them - sprinkle baking soda on them

and the foam should get most dirt off - then use a Brillo pad for anything left!

Good for ovens too, especially doors!

Thanks! I also herd that scrubbing them after soaking with foil would remove the remains on the racks.

I just use Brillo pads after wetting them.

I just read & did this fill tub

With hot dish detergent, add racks I had two fit nicely let soak 8 hrs (overnight)

In morning I drained & redid for another then removed all with a toothbrush

    works great

Put a bowl of amonia in your cold oven overnight. The next day you should be able to wipe them clean without a problem.

I saw something a couple of weeks ago on Home Talk that used tin foil and soaking in bathtub overnight with???? Anyone else saw this tip? It was supposed to keep the oven racks shinny new.

I have never done that or even heard about that- but something to definitely remember.

I have heard about sterling silver being cleaned with cream of tartar and aluminum foil in a boiled water though! It comes out awesome!
