How do I take a cutting from a hosta plant?
How do you take a cutting from a hosta plant to plant it and get a new hosta ??
Take cuttings from soft wisteria stems in late summer. Dip them in rooting hormone and place them in peat moss, sand or vermiculite, or a mixture of the three. Be sure to keep the planting medium moist. When the cuttings show signs of new growth it means roots are developing
Wisteria can take a long time before it flowers (years) I would suggest buying one that has already flowered in the nursery.
Unless you are very vigilant, don't grow wisteria. I had my deck actually lifted by the thick branches and it got totally out of control. I little like bamboo - it just grows and grows. Very pretty, though.
