That are growing up from the root system of the original tree. In this case, Crab Apple trees. I would like to try to allow them to grow elsewhere.

We have a crab apple tree and have tried several things and they come back year after year and we have to keep trimming or removing Them. I wish I had a good suggestion for you
Dig them up and replant where you want.
They are called suckers. Try digging them up...if you get enough roots you will be able to move them.
You can also try growing your own from seed this fall by planting the crab apples in a pot if you can't get enough root to plant the suckers.
