Do you possibly mean liquid shoe polish on shoes? You can use a pretty damp rag to clean most of it off. When you are ready to repolish, use solid black polish, following directions to apply it in small amounts. Be sure to buff the leather with a soft rag to make it shine. Sorry the liquid didn't work for you. Best wishes 😇
I'd use Barkeeper's soft cleanser and warm water with a gentle rag. Rinse well. Dry with a clean cloth. Repeat if necessary. Best of luck.
with nail polish remover
