Plant a variety of plants around bolder with low growing blooming different color bloom and leafy plants in front in taller plants. Also, some ivy and/or other climbing plants. Climbing rose bushes would look great.
A boulder offers a great focal point in a garden. Use low border perennials in front of the boulder, and taller perennials in back. Think impatiens, petunias etc. In addition , you could flank it with grasses. Some offer beautiful Fall interest. You'll need to do a little homework to determine the proper plantings for the area (shade vs. sun) Have fun!
I want to do that 😄
If you want you could paint a phrase, or scripture on it.
Anyone who sells stone, gravel usually have large boulders, they deliver and place with a crane. Its not cheap.... $500 here. You might make your own with a chicken wire frame, and then paper mache it with canvas strips and glue. Then faux paint it with exterior house paint, and seal with an marine epoxy clear coat.
