What is the best way to pull up old vinyl flooring?

We are putting down wood floor and need to get the vinyl pulled up so that we can level the floor.

    Try a straight hoe. Purchased at most Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply for sure. Just push the hoe forward beneath the vinyl.

  • We did this in my Moms small bathroom with a large putty knife for small areas and a hoe as the poster stated above. You can rent a heat gun to soften and remove the old glue.

    I have found out its weird but works, when you pull up old lanolioum vinyl flooring get flour or corn meal and poor it on the area around when you are or have been replacing, you see it obsorbs the glue almost like peels off easier I'm not if I explained this right

      I like the corn meal idea - never heard that one before, but it makes sense to me.

    I use for paint, glue etc, to obsorb it, calk, etc , corn meal is ruffer and flour obsorb different, its great on oil, gasoline, spills and it's cheaper
