How do you unjam a stuck garbage disposal?

    first try reset button. then try wooden spoon handle to turn blades. should work

    Make sure there's nothing stuck in the disposal. Turn off the breaker (!) and put a gloved hand down there. You might be surprised! I almost made Lowe's replace my practically new disposal. They told me to do the above and come back if I didn't find something clogging it. They were right!

    on the bottom of your disposal should be a place to put a hex screwdriver. Place the driver and turn. May need to hit reset on the disposal as well.

    I use the hex metal tool (that came with it) that fits in the bottom of my disposal full turn, take out then flick on, try a few more times. If that doesn't work I put a small flash light down there to see what in there.....I've found pennies, bottle caps, all kinds of stuff can fall down there, fish it out with tongs or your hand. If that doesn't work, then I use a broom handle to turn it.

    If that doesn't work its time for the repair man.
