Using Ink To Create A Distressed Finish

I love the look of distressing but sometimes, I don't want to sand! Sometimes, the wood or paint color underneath is not the color I want to reveal. So, what's a girl to do? I fake it! I like to use ink pads, which can be found in the scrapbook section of your local craft store, for faux distressing and layering! You can find a variety of colors, all priced very affordably. I use this technique on small crafts and on large pieces of furniture! You can find more detailed pictures and a video tutorial by visiting my blog!
Faux Distressing with Ink Pads
This piece was already chippy but the wood was light in tone. The Ink Pad accentuated the depth.
Faux Distressing with black and brown ink for added depth.
