You can sprinkle crushed eggs around your hostas to keep those annoying slugs away! Good luck!
Sprinkle lime on the soil based on package directions & water. Slugs do not like high pH levels. Your soil is probably acidic, which they love.
I have put beer in a cap from a jar. The slugs crawl into the beer, drown and then some larger critter eats the " marinated" slug.
apply food grade diatomaceous earth
Get some old saucers and fill them with beer and salt and put them under the leaves. I've also used Sluggo with great results.
I use Cory"s and it is pet friendly and wild life friendly just a thought
