How can I improve the appearance of my lawn destroyed by large roots?

My front lawn is one big tree root. Two large trees were planted when the Home was built. After 40 years the front lawn is completely destroyed. I had the trees cut down and stumps taken out but the front lawn looks horrible. Help

Not sure what it looks like but where the stumps were taken out you could make into a flower bed, or plant an ornamental tree.

  • Rototill the lawn, amend and start over. Nothing lasts forever, even grass needs a refresh one every 40 years.

do you want to replant grass or landscape or both. What is the lighting and location?

Thank you for your comments. I think I will have to start over completely and landscape the entire lawn. Budget is low however. I inherited this house from my parents. The inside has been completely done over. Looking to diy most of the outside.
