Indoor wall fountain
-
Debbie Harris on Jan 15, 2014I have an indoor fountain. It's not a wall fountain but a three tiered fountain. I love the sound of the indoor fountains. the splash is what makes the water mess but adjusting the flow stops that. I imagine the same would be so on a wall fountain. Also what does the water hit when it lands. I have plants in mine and they look good and work great for sound and splash.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jan 15, 2014Yes, as Debbie points out, the splash of fountains can be messy. A way to resolve that would be to have an area larger than the fountain to put a pan (think wash machine pan spray painted to camouflage it) and put plants around the fountain inside of the pan. This will also help you create an oasis or vignette so that fountain is not just a fountain sitting in the room. Hope this gives you ideas. Good luckHelpful Reply

Cynthia E on Jan 15, 2014I have made a couple of tabletop fountains for indoors and I agree with both Debbie and C Renee: If your pump is adjustable you should not have any splash by lowering flow. And 2 if you do have any splatter even on lowest flow you can put a pan with gravel and plants under it to catch any splashes. I love the sound of a fountain, working on designing a wall one now that I can make and put in living room.Helpful Reply

LorenTaylor on Jan 20, 2014If you buy from a fountain retailer they will label their indoor fountains as "indoor rated" that means there will be no splashing. Typically it will be a smooth surface made out of slate, glass, marble or mirror and the water will flow down and hit the basin full of water. They will have a rock tray that catches any splashing so you do not experience any type of mess. Water fountains are great for the home as they act as natural humidifiers and do attract dust particles (cleans the air).Helpful Reply
