I have one of those cheap round tables that you cover with a tablecloth. How can I redo it?

I've seen many of them painted or the legs stained and the top painted. I was surprised I couldn't find allot of ideas to send you a group link, but there was only one actual decorator table made over. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QkKbUlSkzb4/UZ0qBYzQxSI/AAAAAAAABbI/5TMsPjqFNsc/s1600/5.jpg This isn't an actual decorator table, but it's a great idea for the top: http://badiadesigninc.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/36-rnd-002.jpg You could even mark it off as in this next photo and paint a design on it. http://www.glassmosaictileart.com/sitebuilder/images/table03_adjusted-600x450.jpg and use decorative (scrapbook) paper cut to use as the "tiles". No matter what you do, I think to make it look more like a real table and not just a dressed up cheap decorator table, I'd add an apron. There is such a thing as wacky wood board that could be used to make a round apron, but it's not readily available and probably more than you'd want to spend to redo your table. http://www.goodrichlumber.com/MainSite/Store1/_CachedContent/_ECommerce/StoreProductCategories/142.png

Besides painting or staining, you could do a mosaic on top, or get some thin metal / flashing and cover top with. There are also great metal "paints-not really paint but applies like them, but metal ground in a bonder" I have used Sophisticated Finishes metal products--can't tell from real thing here is link http://patina.com/metallic-surfacers.html. or use appliance stainless steel films http://fauxsteel.com/ . You could faux paint the top to look like marble or granite, or the stone spray paints, heck you could cover with granite film (cheap cost not product) http://www.instant-granite.com/ . Use Chalkboard paint to make a chalkboard, paint or stain then add graphics transfers to top. Legs can be painted/stained, etc or even replaced with a different style-- you could replace legs with another style wood leg or even metal plumbing pipe with flanges for feet, make top into clock (wall or table top type--put molding or just spacers on edges so you could put glass over clock so could still use as a table (save legs for a different project) replace with smaller feet, cover tabletop with foam and fabric turn into footstool. Plenty of tutorials on all above styles and projects here and on pinterest.. Without knowing your style of decorating hard to give specific examples of any 1 type. Have fun and be sure to post pictures here of how you re-make it can't wait to see.

Use broken tiles with colorful grout. Or break up a bunch of CD's that you don't listen to anymore and scatter them on the surface to create a mosaic. I think there might be color glues. You may apply polyurethane after you are finished to make the top waterproof. You can then paint the legs with a complimentary color. I have one that I use as a night stand and I cover mine with a fancy quilt my sister made for me. I also have a round table cloth that covers it to the floor. Good luck.
