Where is it? Are you sure you want to do this? Whatever room it is in will become much darker, and will need to turn lights on even during the day. The most effective method would be to have removed professionally and have the roof repaired. Or a quick fix would be to hop on the roof and paint it. Honestly, I think you will not care for the way it looks though. Worth a try if it is what you really want.
Is it possible you can over it from the inside with some patterned contact paper. They do make the removable contact paper,so if you're not happy with it you can remove it.
If you are looking for a temporary fix, take two spring loaded tension curtain rods and make a panel to stretch over them that is the size of your skylight opening. Place one tension rod at each end of the skylight and the panel should be stretched out over the opening. You could use white fabric to match the ceiling and it will still let in a bit of daylight, or if you are trying to darken the room, use a darker color.
Use blackout linin. Take one by ones and make a frame the size of the skylight ( you can paint the material to match the wall color) attach the fabric to the frame with staples like an artist canvas. Mount over the skylight.
