Fixing Splintered Wood

I love working with wood but now and again I use the wrong blade and end up with splintered wood. Usually I turn the splintered wood towards the back of the project but sometimes there isn't a "back of the project." When that happens I grab the spackling and get to work. http://www.therozyhome.com/2014/01/15/394/

Wow great idea. I have a wood front door that is splintering. We have been doing renovations getting our home ready for sale but we have a limited budget. Im going to try this on the door. Hoping to save us $350!
