Headboard Ideas

What would you do? The wall pictured above is the only logical wall in my master bedroom to place the bed. I will be purchasing a new queen size bed to replace the current Cal King one and I want a headboard. It will need to be custom because blocking the ability to open the window shutters is not an option for safety reasons. The wall between the windows is only 4 feet And the width of the bed is 5 ft. I'm going with a kind of glitz and glamour look, the lamps are mercury glass and the mirrored closet doors have been covered with a film that adds sparkle. New bedding will be a simple flower design in shades of lavender & purple with green leaves on white. The wall space will have pictures that coordinate with the bedding. Thank you in advance for your ideas.

You could duplicate the shutters on the wall. Then would look like continuous window. Use real shutters or paint to look like shutters. Good luck

You could build a headboard between windows to top of wall/ceiliing, as well as underneath windows to width of bed. Paint it all white or cover with fabric of your choice. That would really make the wall a great focal point.

Thank you, Kathy. That's a great idea, maybe a shiny type fabric as that will set off the glitzy lamps and mirrors.

I made a headboard out of hollow core door cut down to size. Got it at rehab store. Added molding and corner medallions...Painted it white. Cheap and easy . I also made one out of lattice with molding and corner medallions. Looked great. You could also get shutters from rehab and cut down to height size..hang horizontal or vertical.

The lattice was my favorite....hmmm there should be a picture on my profile.

I have a double platform bed needed headboard. I tape to foam boards together lengthwise then spray adhesive took an egg crate cut to size. Put a nice curtain panel I found and wrapped ,staple. Then several commands around back of frame and then put on walk. My other idea was finding a vintage screen door and hanging lengthwise

You could cover squares of MDF with batting and lush fabric to fit whatever space you needed. Maybe even add a bed teester for some added luxury.
